Who We Are
Mid-America Law Library Consortium (MALLCO) is a consortium of academic law libraries organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation for the benefit of its members. Currently, there are 28 member libraries across the Midwest region.

Paul Callister, Director of the Leon E. Bloch Law Library and Professor of Law at the University of Missouri Kansas City was the recipient of the Lexis/AALL Call for Papers Award for “Law and Its Discovery: The Roles of Law Librarianship and Legal Information Science in the Age of GenAI.”

Bonnie Shucha, Associate Dean of Library and Information Servies and Director of the Law Library, and Kris Turner, Associate Director for Public Services of the University of Wisconsin School of Law won the AALL Excellence in Community Engagement Award for their Ethical and Effective Generative AI Use Initiative.

MALLCO Grants
In the fall of 2025, MALLCO is offering grants to three different events: Iowa Law Collections Symposium in Iowa City, Iowa (October 2-3, 2025) International Association of Law Libraries Conference in Houston, Texas (October 19-23, 2025) Mid-America Association of Law Libraries Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio (October 22-24, 2025) The amounts of the grants are as follows: Collections Symposium - $500, IALL - $1000, MAALL - $1000 We anticipate awarding three grants to each event. Please use this application to apply for any of the grants in which you are interested. You will indicate with checkboxes in the application which grant(s) you are applying to. Applications must be received by Friday, August 22, 2025. Recipients will by notified by Friday, August 29, 2025. Employees of MALLCO member school libraries, except library directors, are eligible for the grants. You may apply for multiple grants, but please note that recipients will be expected to attend and participate fully in the event(s) for which they are awarded grant funds. Apply Here
